Executive Board
Kimberly Russell

Dean

Kimberly is a 3L. She is the former Philanthropy chair for Delta Theta Phi and is also involved with other organizations at the law school -- including The Law Association For Women, where she serves as Treasurer. She has lived in seven states and had a 2-year "career" in broadcast television as a local news producer for ABC in Tulsa, Oklahoma prior to law school. Kimberly enjoys laughing (although it sounds like a cackle most of the time), hanging out with her dog named Michael Scott, all things Christmas, cooking (but only the fanciest recipes), and treating herself. After law school, Kimberly would like to move to Tennessee or Georgia to hopefully write public policy or try criminal cases.

My name is Brianna Warner and I am a 3L. I'm from Gulfport, MS and attended Mississippi University for Women where I graduated with a degree in political science and women's studies. This past summer, I clerked at Lambda Legal in Atlanta, where I worked on impact litigation related to LGBT rights and HIV discrimination. Makenli Essert

Tribune

My name is Makenli Essert and I'm a 2L here at Ole Miss. I am originally from New Orleans, but I've traveled quite a bit over the years. I completed my Bachelor's degree in both Sociology and Cultural Anthropology at the University of Maryland: Baltimore County in 2014. I then moved to South Korea where I taught English for two years. Subsequently, I gained the ability to communicate in Korean and have since dabbled in a few other languages, including Mandarin and Afrikaans. I am interested in applying these skills towards a possible career in international law and/or politics. My goal is to become an advocate for human rights both at home and abroad, with a focus on global issues. In my free time, I love to read, write short stories, and watch the Syfy channel!

Sarah Phillips

Clerk of the Exchequer

Hi! My name is Sarah Phillips, and I am a 3L from Star City, AR. I graduated with Bachelor’s degrees in Political Science & Criminal Justice from the University of Arkansas at Monticello (Anyone remember the KGB boll weevil commercial?). While I never really saw myself living in Mississippi full time, Oxford might be converting this Arky! I hope to work in family law and/or child advocacy. I want to help families and children navigate the complex legal system. Interesting facts about me? I speak some Spanish & German, and I love to travel!"

Stephanie Gobert

Social Chair

Hi,  my name is Stephanie. I'm an Ole Miss Law 3L from southeast Texas. I come from a family of farmers, teachers, carpenters, and construction workers. I'm interested in practicing immigration law after graduation. And, my favorite food would probably be a 3-way tie between a Vietnamese bánh mì sandwich, a gyro, and Israeli couscous.

Danielle Banks

Master of the Ritual

Hi everybody! My name is Alexis Danielle Banks, but I answer to Danielle. I am a 3L, a baking enthusiast, and a great "attempter" at outdoor activities. I claim Cleveland, MS as my home, but have moved 22 times in several different states. When I am not at school, I am usually hanging out with my husband and our two cats, baking, or wandering around outside.

Kayse Machan

Social Chair

I am a 3L transfer from Syracuse Law but I attended The University of Arkansas and I am a huge Arkansas Razorbacks fan (though the Rebs are definitely growing on me). In my first semester here I worked to get involved in the Law Association for Women and now Delta Theta Phi. In my free time I love running at whirlpool trail and playing fetch with my weenie dog Frank (and his squash). Though I focused most of my undergrad on business finance with the original goal of doing transactional law, I hope to move to Tennessee after graduation and do criminal defense.”

Michael Lambert

Fundraising Committee Chair

Michael is a second-year law student at the University of Mississippi. He’s a 27-year-old native of Birmingham, Alabama. Before law school, he worked as a business reporter in Birmingham and New York covering steel commodities trading. And yes, he once got to “drive” a cargo ship in the Houston harbor once. He’s so grateful and excited to be part of DTP!

Mcrae Young

Recruitment Committee Chair

My name is McRae Young and I'm a 3L. In addition to Delta Theta Phi, I'm involved in the Honor Council, Deans Leadership Council, Law Association for Women, and the Student Animal Legal Defense Fund. I also serve as the student representative to the Curriculum and Practices Committee! When I'm not at school, I'm hanging out with my three dogs and one cat. I like to go visit my fiancé, who is a 2L at another law school, whenever I have time on the weekends. He has a dog, too! After graduation, I would like to practice in compliance for health law or in medical malpractice defense. And as an Auburn grad, I have to close with a War Eagle!"
